WATSONVILLE – A Watsonville man was found guilty Tuesday of several sex crimes against a child that could send him to prison for life.


Victor Castelan Gonzalez, 41, faces a Jan. 10 sentencing date for six counts, which include aggravated sexual assault of a minor, showing harmful matter to a minor, and attempted lewd acts on a minor, Santa Cruz County District Attorney Jeff Rosell said.

According to Rosell, the crimes against the 13-year-old female victim occurred from October 2016 to June 2017.

Gonzalez worked as a cook on a taco truck during that time. He is in Santa Cruz County Jail awaiting sentencing.
