October 20, 1940 – October 31, 2018

Resident of Corralitos

Juanita Marie Clifton – beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt – passed away at her home on October 31, 2018 in Corralitos, California.  She was 78.

Juanita was born in Salina, Kansas on October 20, 1940.  She lived in Salina her entire childhood and it was there she met and married the love of her life, her precious husband Bill Clifton, who was stationed there in the Air Force.  They spent over 60 wonderful years together.  Bill was by her side, as always, at the time of her passing.

Bill and Juanita started their family in Kansas, and after Bill retired from the service, the Clifton family moved to Watsonville, California where they remained until the time of her passing. Juanita worked for the PVUSD cafeteria services for over 35 years. Juanita loved when her former students would come up to her and tell her how they remembered her and how she impacted their lives.

Juanita was a joyful woman who loved her family and her home. Her greatest joy was having her children and grandchildren living so close to her and seeing them most every day.

Juanita loved traveling all over the country with Bill, Aptos High School sports, and decorating her happy home for every holiday.  Juanita’s home was renowned for Halloween decorations and her homemade popcorn balls.

Even in her pain and suffering, Juanita continued to look out for her family she loved so much.  Her final days were spent with her family, her husband, children, grandchildren, and sisters and nieces from all over the country constantly by her side.

Juanita is survived by her husband Bill; her daughter Anita (Clifton) George, son-in-law Gary George, grandsons Justin and Brandon George; son Bill Clifton Jr., daughter-in-law Lisa Clifton, grandchildren Krey and Kiley Clifton; son Johnny Clifton, daughter-in-law Kristin Clifton and grandson Cody Clifton.

Although our hearts are heavy and saddened, they are also filled with the eternal loving memories Juanita created for us all.

A celebration of Juanita’s life is being planned for after the first of the year in Corralitos, California, date to be announced.

Mehl’s Colonial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
