Jeannette Frances Willoughby, 96, of Watsonville, passed away on November 15, 2018 in Aptos, California.
Jeannette was born in Watsonville to Norma and Arthur Thimann on March 12, 1922. She attended San Jose State University and was a member of the Black Masque Honor Society for academic excellence and leadership skills. After graduating from SJSU she married David Willoughby and had one son named Frederick Willoughby. David and Fred preceded her in passing.
Jeannette is survived by her sister-in-law Rosalie Thimann; daughter-in-law Sharon Willoughby; grandson David and his wife Jenna Willoughby; grandson Christopher and his wife Jen Willoughby; and six great-granddaughters Brooke, Claire, Savannah, Sophia, Sadie, and Sharon Willoughby.
We will miss her laughter, grace, talents, strength, and her great intelligence. Jeannette was an accomplished pianist. She played daily for many years and was especially fond of the works of Chopin. She also enjoyed world travel and playing tennis regularly.
For those wishing to remember Jeannette, the family would request that donations be sent to the victims of the California wildfires through tic.org/relief.
Mehl’s Colonial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
