WATSONVILLE — Ana Maria Rocha Montanez died peacefully surrounded by her family at Watsonville Community Hospital on Sunday, July 26, 2017. She was 95. 

Mrs. Rocha was born Dec. 11, 1922, to Samuel Montanez and Agapita Valdez in Gomez Farias, Michoacan, Mexico. She married Guadalupe Rocha and started a family, having eight children. In 1962 they migrated to Watsonville where she worked in the farming community until she retired.  Mrs. Rocha spent much of her time with her children and grandchildren.  She was known for her kind heart and loving nature.

Mrs. Rocha is survived by her sons, Rogelio, Guadalupe, Luis, Jose, and Raul Rocha; daughters, Teresa Duarte, Lourdes Huezo, and Ana Maria Ortiz, and their spouses; 36 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, and over 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at Church of the Assumption, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Assumption. Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery.  Mehl’s Colonial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
