The Santa Cruz County Fair is fast-approaching, and with it comes the 43rd annual Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau Apple Pie Baking Contest.
The contest will be held on opening day of the fair on Sept. 11. Entry deadline is Sept 3; there is no entry fee required.
Since 1997 the Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau has organized the event, which is sponsored by local Pajaro Valley apple growers, shippers and others in related industries.
There are three divisions for the contest.
First place will win $50, second place $40 and third place $30 (each division). Best of Show will be awarded $75.
