SC County Bank welcomes business banking officer

WATSONVILLE — Michelle Navarro has joined Santa Cruz County Bank as assistant vice president and business banking officer. 

Navarro has more than 10 years of experience in banking, extending from operations to sales and branch management. Most recently, she was branch manager for JP Morgan Chase, where she obtained certification as a mentor to coach branch managers and served as chairperson of volunteer events for the bank’s Silicon Valley – Santa Cruz markets.

A native of Santa Cruz County, Navarro obtained an associate of arts degree from Cabrillo College and is a graduate of Watsonville High School.  

As business banking officer for Santa Cruz County Bank, Navarro will be responsible for client relationship development in the greater Santa Cruz area, with an office based out of the bank’s Watsonville office at 595 Auto Center Drive.

Navarro currently resides in Watsonville with her husband and four children.

Operational efficiency seminar series begins

WATSONVILLE — Sustainable Productivity Solutions will hold its Unlocking Operational Efficiency seminar series beginning on Feb. 21.

The training is geared toward professionals who want to utilize efficiency tools and techniques. Participants will learn how to increase operational efficiency and reduce waste in business processes, among other things.

The seminar is presented in English from 10 a.m. to noon, and Spanish from 1:30-3:30 p.m. It will be held Feb. 21 and 28, and March 7 and 14 at 275 Main St., Suite 450.

Previous participants in the seminar were from Royal Oaks Farms, County of Santa Cruz, Lakeside Organic Gardens, Jacob Farms, Second Harvest, Monterey Mushrooms and other local companies.

Business Showcase returns

APTOS — The 2019 Business Showcase is scheduled for Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Seascape Golf Club, 610 Clubhouse Drive in Aptos.

Put on by the Aptos and Capitola/Soquel Chambers of Commerce, the annual event is a showcase of dozens of local businesses, organizations and community groups. It also includes prizes, raffles, samples and more.
