The Cabrillo College Board of Trustees on Tuesday approved a contract for Jenn Capps to be its new President and Superintendent.
Capps’ 3 1/2-year contract—which includes an option to renew—includes a $306,000 salary, a $4,885 yearly doctoral stipend and a $667 monthly car allowance, along with up to $917 per month in reimbursable business expenses.
She will start on Jan. 20.
Capp currently serves as provost and vice president of academic affairs at Cal Poly Humboldt.
“We’re looking forward to having Dr. Capps lead Cabrillo into its next chapter,” Cabrillo Board President Cuevas stated in a press release in December.
At Cal Poly Humboldt, Capps co-led the self-study that helped establish the campus as California State University’s third polytechnic university, and was involved in securing a $458 million state investment aimed at expanding workforce-aligned academic programs, increasing enrollment and enhancing student success, the news release said.
Capps previously served as dean of the College of Professional Studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She holds degrees in counseling psychology, is a licensed professional counselor and specializes in juvenile rehabilitation and crisis response, according to the release.
“I am thrilled to join the Cabrillo College family,” Capps said in a statement.
