The public is invited to the Calles Libres (Free Streets) community celebration on the streets of downtown for a car-free festival honoring Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) through movement, culture, and connection.

The event runs from 2-4pm at the Plaza and surrounding streets and includes cycling, dancing, storytelling, live music, Mariachi, altars and art installations honoring passed loved ones. Also on deck will be zumba, yoga, community booths, games, a bike rodeo, food and information tables.

Calles Libres creates a safe, inclusive space for families, youth, and community members of all ages to gather, play, and celebrate.

“This year’s theme integrates the spirit of Día de Muertos, honoring ancestors while uplifting the living traditions of Watsonville’s diverse community,” organizers from Growing Greatness and Ecology Action, who are hosting the event, said.
