WATSONVILLE — Carrie Mayo, a longtime resident of Watsonville, died suddenly on Saturday, July 1, 2017. She was 64.

She was born in Watsonville on Dec. 23, 1953 to Joe Fontenot and Earlene Carson Fontenot. She retired from the Pajaro Valley Unified School District in December 2015, after 20 years of service.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Darrell, both of Watsonville; three siblings, Becky Garcia of Thousand Oaks, Jolene Phillips of Santa Cruz, and Jeff Fontenot of Bradley; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, 1 p.m., at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. The service is open to all family and friends.
