A man was arrested following a routine traffic stop in Watsonville Feb. 7 after California Highway Patrol officers discovered a loaded handgun in his car.

CHP officer Israel Murillo said that during the early morning traffic stop, a CHP officer spotted a loaded unregistered handgun that belonged to a 20-year-old passenger. 

That person was arrested and is facing multiple felony gun charges.

No names were released.
