APTOS — Another business in the Rancho De Mar center has opened its doors, adding to the wealth of shops that are filling up the newly-remodeled hub.

Clean Juice is currently holding a soft opening with limited hours and will officially open Monday.

Owner Karen Brenner said she is positive the business model will fit well in the community. The store is the third location in California and the 77th in the nation, with around 100 in development in 16 states.

Clean Juice started in 2014 as the brainchild of Kat and Landon Eckles. They opened their first store n Birkdale Village, N.C.

All of their products are USDA-certified organic status. Brenner said it is the only certified organic, franchised juice bar in America.

Their expansive menu includes fresh juices, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, açaí bowls, greenoa bowls (greens and grains), juice cleanses, and small bites. Açaí is a Brazilian dish made of frozen and mashed açaí palm fruit. It is usually served as a smoothie in a bowl and is commonly topped with granola and banana, and then mixed with other fruits and guaraná syrup.

“I actually used to work in this same center when my parents ran a Baskin Robbins ice cream business here,” Brenner said. “I was born and raised here, so I am thrilled to a part of the business community.”

A big selling point of the business, Brenner said, is their in-house cold-pressed fruit and vegetable beverages that are bottled onsite.

Around 20 people will work at Clean Juice, 100 Rancho Del Mar.

Brenner said she is planning a grand opening for Sept. 7. Their hours are Mon.-Fri. 7 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sat. 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun. 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
