Hospice holding memorial service
WATSONVILLE — Hospice of Santa Cruz County will hold a memorial service with candles on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 721 Main St. in Watsonville.
The service will be held in Spanish.
Hospice of Santa Cruz County also hosts a weekly drop-in grief support group every Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at 65 Nielson St. in Watsonville.

Peripheral neuropathy group meets
SANTA CRUZ — People who suffer from peripheral neuropathy are invited to a meeting on March 21 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 420 Melrose Ave. in Santa Cruz, at 12:30 p.m.
The meeting is an opportunity to discuss what methods work to alleviate the pain, as well as share what does not work.

Business Council to host annual reception
SANTA CRUZ — The Santa Cruz County Business Council (SCCBC) is hosting its annual member meeting and reception on March 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Chaminade Resort and Spa, 1 Chaminade Lane in Santa Cruz.
The event will feature Santa Cruz County Supervisor Zach Friend as the keynote speaker, as well as an address from Business Council Executive Director Robert Singleton.
The annual event provides members and guests a chance to view the release of the 2017 Annual Report, while also serving as an opportunity to discuss the goals for 2018.
The program will include a wine reception and a sampling of appetizers provided by the Chaminade Resort and Spa in the Seascape Room of the venue.

Assistant health services director named
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY — Santa Cruz County Health Services Director Giang Nguyen announced Mimi Khin Hall as assistant director of health services.
Hall has nearly two decades of experience as a public-sector health services administrator. As director of Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency’s Community Health Branch, Hall’s responsibilities included public health accreditation, budget development and oversight, strategic planning and performance management, workforce development and collaborating with county and community partners to provide services to the community.
“I’m confident that Ms. Hall will bring her talents, experience, energy, enthusiasm and integrity to HSA,” Nguyen said. “I am pleased to welcome her aboard.”
Prior to Yolo County, Hall served 16 years in various administrative roles for the Plumas County Public Health Agency, including 10 years as the director. She is an officer of the County Health Executives Association of California and a contributor to the National Association of Counties, National Association of City and County Health Officials, the California State Association of Counties, California Health Care Foundation, the Rural Policy Research Institute and more.
Hall has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and Master in Public Health from University of Hawaii at Manoa. She begins April 9.
