Law enforcement hosting gun buyback
WATSONVILLE — The Santa Cruz County Chief’s Association will be hosting a gun buyback event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be two locations: the Sheriff’s Office at 5200 Soquel Ave. and Watsonville Fire Station 1 at 115 Second St.
Rifles and shotguns will net $50, $100 for handguns, and $200 for assault weapons.

Preschool holding Easter event
WATSONVILLE — The 15th Annual Easter Celebration and Open House at Hearts & Hands Preschool, 40 Blanca Lane in Watsonville, will be on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The event will feature performances, games, prizes, egg hunt, food, face painting and more.

Class covers strawberry growing
WATSONVILLE — UC Master Gardeners of Monterey & Santa Cruz Counties will hold a free class on how to grow strawberries.
UC Master Gardener Dawn Avery will discuss the best strawberries varieties for the area, how to select and prepare a strawberry bed, and what watering, fertilization, and pest management practices will keep them producing.
The class will be held March 31 from 10 a.m. to noon at the UCMG, 1430 Freedom Blvd., Suite E, in Watsonville. For information and to pre-register (requested, not required), visit mbmg.org.

Easter on the Farm set
WATSONVILLE — The Agricultural History Project will celebrate Easter on the Farm on March 31 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, 2601 East Lake Ave. in Watsonville.
Egg hunts will start at 11:15 a.m. and will be every hour until 2:15 p.m. in four separate age groups.
The event is free, and donations are accepted.

Photographer to show work
APTOS — Award-winning photographer Shmuel Thaler will present a gallery of his photos that capture local history for the Aptos History Museum’s “Coffee, Tea and History” event on Saturday from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Rio Sands Hotel community room, 116 Aptos Beach Drive.
Admission is $20 general, $15 for museum members. Proceeds benefit the Aptos History Museum.
