WATSONVILLE—Covid-19 vaccines are now available by appointment only for residents 75 years and older at the county’s new mass vaccination center at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds.

Residents who are at 95019, 95076 and 95077 zip codes must register at https://mhealthsystem.com/santacruzfairgrounds to schedule an appointment. Organizers urge people to sign up soon, as doses are still limited and spaces are filling up very fast.

Verification of occupation (work ID, paycheck stub, etc.) or age/zip code of residence will be required at check-in. Insurance is not required, but city officials are asking residents to be sure to bring medical and prescription cards.

Bilingual staff will be on-site.

Appointments for next week will be announced soon. Watsonville Mayor Jimmy Dutra said it all depends on how many vaccines the County receives in the coming week. Stay in touch with the City of Watsonville for updates.

Residents 75+ are the first groups of Phase 1B who will be eligible. After that, workers in education, childcare, food and agriculture, fire, law enforcement, emergency services and those 65+ will be next.

Those from all three tiers of Phase 1A also remain eligible.
