Tarmo Hannula/The Pajaronian Serve it up Guests line up for the annual Crab Feed dinner at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds in 2023.

The 21st annual Crab Feed, an evening gathering that typically nets around $60,000 to support The Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds Foundation, is set for March 2.

The all-you-can-eat crab, chicken, clam chowder, salad and dessert meal, which usually draws 500 people, will also include a silent and live auction.

Money raised goes to the Fairgrounds Foundation which then invests in the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds to maintain and upgrade grounds and facilities. The Foundation has invested more than $3.5 million dollars in the fairgrounds over the last 22 years.

This year’s auctioneer is Freedom Rotary Club President Steve Bennett.

Beside the County Fair, the fairgrounds hosts more than 350 events annually for companies, individuals, schools and community groups.
