Traffic on northbound Highway 1 north of Watsonville is clogged due to two crashes on the highway Wednesday morning. California Highway Patrol Sgt. Grant Boles said the first crash took place at 6:40 a.m., near Park Avenue, where a motorcyclist crashed and slid underneath a car. Then at 9:15 a.m., a two-car crash clogged the northbound lanes south of Freedom Boulevard. Motorists quickly used alternate routes and clogged surrounding surface roads throughout Aptos for about two hours. Boles said there were no fatalities involved.
