Scores of protests against President Donald Trump’s policies and recent actions against immigrants are set for Saturday in cities across the U.S. for No Kings Day.
According to the No Kings website, the event is a “national day of action and mass mobilization in response to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political positions, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts.
“They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services,” the statement reads.
The protests are being planned to run ahead of Trump’s military parade marking both his birthday and the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. military.
Protests on the Central Coast include:
• Watsonville City Plaza, 12-2pm
• Aromas Town Square, 12-2pm

• Salinas, 1275 S. Main St., 12-2pm
