Edward J. Machado died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 3, 2019. He was 90.

Mr. Machado was born to Edward S. Machado and Mary Neves in Ripon, Calif. on Jan. 21, 1929. He lived in Manteca and Santa Cruz before settling in Aromas. He was a high school graduate and attended Hartnell College. Mr. Machado was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army. Before retiring he worked at the United States Post Office for 26 years. He loved to travel, watch sports, gardening and go bowling. He also liked to do woodworking projects at home as a hobby.

Mr. Machado is survived by his wife of 51 years, Fenesia Mae Lane Machado; daughter, Leslie Mikan; step-son, Doug Braga (Sandra); step-daughter, Deana Howland; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Neves Machado; aunt, Lucille Cardoza; and two sisters, Mary Jane Boles and Virginia Harvey.

A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz on Monday, March 11 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
