Elsie Mae Fleck died at her daughter’s home in Simi Valley on Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was 95. 

She was born in Crosby, Texas, and grew up in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. In 1937, Mrs. Fleck moved to California living in several places before coming to Aromas in 1983 and finally Watsonville in 1994 where she lived until three years ago.

Mrs. Fleck was a homemaker who loved baking, cooking and tending her garden. Her family was always her priority and was also known as a second mom to many.

Mrs. Fleck is survived by her sons, Douglas Roger Fleck of Fallbrook, Joe Rafael Fleck of Aptos, Michael David Fleck of La Selva Beach, and Timothy Paul Fleck of Redding; daughter, Ilona Marie Heil of Simi Valley; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

A rosary will be recited Thursday, 6 p.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m. at Valley Catholic Church with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
