WATSONVILLE — A gunshot victim showed up at the Watsonville Community Hospital emergency room around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to 9-1-1 dispatchers, the victim was apparently shot in a strawberry field in Monterey County. He was reportedly dropped off by someone in a black SUV.

The victim was then taken by ground ambulance to an out-of-county trauma center.

The incident is being investigated by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
