The local folkloric dance group Esperanza del Valle will celebrate its 45th anniversary on April 4, 5 and 6 at the Crocker Theater in Aptos.

The program, titled “Espirítu de Mexico,” will feature live music with guest artists Nematatín de la Universidad Veracruzana and Mariachi Tapatio de San José. Additionally, artistic director Daniel del Valle Hernández and three dancers with the Ballet Folklórico del Puerto de Veracruz de la Universidad Veracruzana will round out the shows.

Presented by the Cabrillo College Dance Department, the evening will honor the work of the dance group’s master teachers with dance and music of Mexico, including the regions of Guerrero, Huasteca, Veracruz, Jalisco, Colima and Nayarit. The performances will also feature the choreodramas “Macaria,” “La Mula Chula” and “Los Dos Hermanos.”

The live music event takes place at the Crocker Theater, 6500 Lower Perimeter Road in Aptos.

General admission tickets are $25 ($20 seniors, $15 students).
