Forty five years of performances, instruction and celebration of Mexican folkloric dance culture was splashed across the Crocker Theater stage at Cabrillo College in three electrifying performances by Watsonville’s Esperanza del Valle on April 4, 5 and 6 in Aptos.

The nearly three-hour program, “Espirítu de Mexico,”  featured nine musicians, with guest artists and instructors from Mexico.

The show represented the regions of Guerrero, Huasteca, Veracruz, Jalisco, Colima and Nayarit.

Throughout the show on Saturday, the audience cheered and applauded, even singing along during some songs.

Whoops and hollers punctuated nearly every dance piece or musical work from a nearly sold-out auditorium with people of all ages riveted to the stage.

Esperanza del Valle will present a free dance show May 9 at the Crocker Theater at 7pm.
