WATSONVILLE—A Watsonville teen was shot and another is in custody following a domestic dispute late Wednesday night.

Watsonville Police Department spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said the two males, who are brothers, erupted in an argument around 10:20pm at a home on Evelyn Avenue near Clifford Drive and Freedom Boulevard.

The disagreement led to shots fired and one of the teens being struck.

Watsonville Police quickly arrived, established a crime scene and began a neighborhood search.

Police eventually located the victim and the suspect.

The victim was treated at a hospital and released.

WPD called for back up from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office. The agencies set up a staging area at a nearby car wash and Watsonville Fire and American Medical Response were held nearby on standby.
