WATSONVILLE — Farmers Insurance agents Dwight Lynn and Jacqueline S. Barrios honored local classroom teachers in partnership with their principals, Elaine Parker of Amesti Elementary and Amy Thomas of Watsonville Charter School of the Arts (WCSA), for their contributions to the students and their families in the community of Watsonville.

“It’s a complete privilege to honor the people in my community who have such difficult jobs and let them know that they are deeply appreciated,” Lynn said.

“I value any opportunity to stay connected with my community and get to know people on a personal level,” added Barrios, Lynn’s new agency producer.

A former educator herself, Barrios is aware of the day-to-day necessities and the reality most local teachers face because of limited budgets.

Lynn has provided Keurig pods, myriad art supplies, Starbucks and Nob Hill gift cards, and a donation towards the catering scheduled for WCSA’s upcoming Art Auction, among other things.

The Art Auction benefits all students at WCSA, raising funds for everything from crayons to field trips. It will take place on March 24 at the Watsonville Woman’s Club from 5-9 p.m. Along with enjoying a catered dinner, guests will have the opportunity to bid on original art pieces created by students, gift cards to local businesses and attractions, and tickets to places such as Gilroy Gardens and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

To purchase tickets, email wc*****@gm***.com by March 10. This event has limited seating and all attendees will need a ticket.

The Lynn Agency, 365 East Lake Ave. in Watsonville, is open five days a week, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For information, call 722-6787 or visit agents.farmers.com/ca/watsonville/dwight-lynn.
