Around 300 women in agriculture and in support of the farming community attended the 17th annual Down to Earth Women’s luncheon Thursday at Driscoll’s Rancho Corralitos. The event is part of Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau’s Agri-Culture, an education non-profit with 11 endowed funds, scholarship programs, an agricultural leadership program, land conservation program, farmworker housing assistance and various educational programs.

“It’s a lovely day in Corralitos with 300 women celebrating women in ag and agriculture,” said Caroline Eiskamp, co-chair of the event. “It’s lovely so see all the ladies out here today.”

Driscoll’s worker Valoree Larios said it was her second year at the event.

“I’m grateful to be part of this community of women that support the ag society,” she said. “I feel lucky to be a part of this group.”
