Work continues on the Green Valley Road Multi-Use Project. The County of Santa Cruz Department of Community Development and Infrastructure said the project will provide pedestrians with a safer, more accessible path through the area. It also includes upgraded road crossings, new bus shelters and upgrades to existing bus stops, landscaping, and public art installations.
Current work includes the intersection of Amesti and Green Valley roads.
While the intersection temporarily combines the left and right turn lanes for vehicles turning onto Green Valley Road, the temporary change is necessary to accommodate ongoing construction, and both left and right turn lanes will be restored as the project nears completion, said Tiffany Martinez Departmental Communications Officer for the County of Santa Cruz.
The overall project runs between Holohan Road and Mesa Verde Drive.
Funded by the Clean California Grant and 2016 Measure D, the project is on track to be completed in the spring of 2025.
