Jan. 5, 1933-Jan. 8, 2019
Resident of Corralitos
It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Henry Cardona, with his loving wife, Rose Marie, at his side.
Henry was born in San Jose to Frank and Margaret Cardona. He is the brother of Joe Cardona and the late Carl Cardona. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rose Marie, and his four children, Karen (Paul) Elerick, Ken Cardona, Kate Sutherland, and Kevin (Denise) Cardona. His grandchildren Jenna Elerick, Sean (Holly) Elerick, Laura (Tom) Bray, Scott Cardona, Sierra Sutherland, Claire Cardona, and his great-grandson, Grant Elerick, were joys in his life.
Henry, Rose Marie and the family moved to Corralitos in 1969 where he built a home. He worked as a civil engineer for the Santa Cruz Water Department, and later became manager for the San Lorenzo Water District. He opened his own engineering firm in 1991. He was a founding member of Holy Eucharist Church in Corralitos and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was proud to be an Air Force veteran. Henry was a witty, kind and generous man. He was always involved in a project, and he could fix anything. Most of all, he loved whenever his family gathered together.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral mass at Holy Eucharist Church, 527 Corralitos Rd., Corralitos at 11:00 am on Friday, January 25, 2019, and a memorial service at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 26 in the St. Clare Chapel at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara.
