Watsonville High put an end to a three-game losing streak with a 10-0, five-inning romp over cross-city rival Pajaro Valley High on Wednesday night at Harlan Guy Field in Watsonville.
With the win, Watsonville improved to 10-9 overall and 10-6 in Monterey Bay League Pacific division play.
Pajaro Valley dropped to 3-14 overall and 1-13 in league action.
Ryan Rivera, Jeremy Diaz and Ed Espinoza combined to throw a two-hit shutout for the Wildcatz, who won the season series 2-1 over Pajaro Valley.
Gio Gonzalez paced the Watsonville offense with a homer, a double and a single. Max Ramirez, Jason Garza, Dylan Vargas and Eric Maldonado all had two hits in the victory.
Watsonville will host North Monterey County High tonight at 7 p.m. for senior night.
Pajaro Valley travels to Alisal High today at 4 p.m.

SANTA CRUZ ROLLING
Aptos High mustered only one hit in Tuesday’s crucial 6-0 loss to Santa Cruz High in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League action.
The win moved Santa Cruz to 9-0 in SCCAL play, and all but sealed the Cardinals’ run to the league championship — their first since 2015. A win at home today against San Lorenzo Valley High will clinch at least a share of the title.
Aptos plays at Westmont High today at noon, and hosts Pacific Grove on Saturday at 1 pm.
SHARKS RALLY
St. Francis High rallied for a 5-3, eight-inning win over N.M.C. on Monday in non-league play.
David Talavera hit a two-run double for the Sharks.

Watsonville senior infielder/pitcher Gio Gonzalez belted a homer, a double and a single for the Wildcatz in their 10-0 win over Pajaro Valley, Wednesday.
GAME OF THE WEEK (May 4-10)
Watsonville at Alvarez, May 9, 4 p.m. — The Wildcatz will be looking for revenge when they travel to Salinas to play the Eagles in their final MBL-P game of the season. Watsonville could also still be in play for a Central Coast Section playoff berth come next week.
Alvarez beat Watsonville, 8-1, on Tuesday to hand the Wildcatz their third straight loss.
