Senior quarterback Sean White tossed four touchdown passes, senior running back Cody Paresa ran for a pair of scores and the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs thumped the Alvarez High Eagles, 48-27, on Friday night in Watsonville.

Junior receiver Nick Bautista caught two touchdowns and kicked a pair of field goals for M.V.C. (4-2, 2-1), which was celebrating homecoming. Junior receivers Daniel Brierley and Kalaea Jennings also caught touchdown passes.

Alvarez (2-4, 0-3) held the lead twice in the first quarter but M.V.C. grabbed the lead on White’s 72-yard hookup with Bautista toward the end of the opening frame and never looked back.

The Mustangs led 28-13 at the half and extended their lead to 25 early in the fourth quarter.

M.V.C. will travel to Salinas on Oct. 14 to play Palma High, which lost to Salinas High on Friday night for the first time in 15 years.

• St. Francis 49, Harbor 14 — The St. Francis High Sharks continued their perfect start to Mission Trail Athletic League Coastal division play with another blowout win over Harbor High at Emmett M. Geiser Field in Watsonville.

St. Francis (6-1, 3-0) senior running back Carson Cuzick and junior running back Devin McLeod both ran for two touchdowns, while junior running backs Andy O’Rourke and Andrew Seymour also scored on the ground.

Seymour also returned a punt for a score for the Sharks, which will host Soquel High on Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.

• Aptos 56, North Salinas 7 — Aptos High won its 35th straight league contest on Friday night in a Monterey Bay League Gabilan division rout of North Salinas High at Trevin Dilfer Field in Aptos.

Junior running back Marcos Reyes ran for a pair of touchdowns and junior quarterback Angel Aparicio tossed two touchdowns for Aptos (4-2, 3-0), which hosts Alvarez High on Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Junior running back Bubba Gallardo, sophomore fullback Josh Powell and junior quarterback Hunter Matys also scored for the Mariners.
