Around 200 people gathered at Watsonville Plaza Thursday as part of a nationwide movement to protest the Trump administration’s attack on civil and human rights. Organized by Indivisible Santa Cruz County, local union groups, Black Voters Matter, and others, the “Good Trouble Lives On” event brought a wide flurry of homemade signs, chants, and speeches on the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing “to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble,” organizers said. Scores of such demonstrations took place around the county, including Santa Cruz, Soquel, and Aptos. (Tarmo Hannula/The Pajaronian)
