FREEDOM — Jaime Abundis died unexpectedly at his Freedom home on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017. He was 43.

Mr. Abundis was born to Pedro Abundis and Maria Gallo in Watsonville on April 12, 1974. He attended local schools and graduated from Aptos High. He worked for Preston Pipeline Inc. for nine years and helped upgrade the NASA Center, Stanford Hospital and build the 49ers’ stadium. He was a happy, friendly and caring person who loved his family. He liked to cook good meals, dance, and tend to his chickens. He also had a great sense of humor and liked to joke around, but to relax he enjoyed listening to music especially “Rancheras.”

Mr. Abundis is survived by his father, Pedro Abundis; one brother; and three sisters.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Tuesday, Jan. 2 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Pioneer Cemetery.
