Four Cabrillo College starters scored double digits in a 71-57 victory over West Valley College on Wednesday afternoon in the Adobe Palace, resulting in Cabrillo (16-5, 5-1) having sole possession of second place in the Coast Conference South.
Sophomore forward Lenorris Mincey led the Seahawks with 15 points, while also recording eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot.
Yeskin Williams registered his third double-double in CC-S play with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Seahawks will host the winless San Jose Community College Jaguars tonight in Aptos at 7 p.m.

SOFTBALL
• Cabrillo sweeps Taft – Cabrillo started its season with a pair of dominant wins over Taft on Jan. 26. The Seahawks won 13-4 in the first game of the day, and 11-3 in the second.
The Seahawks got off to a hot start in the first game of the season, registering hits (14) in more than half their at-bats (27).
Shortstop Maddy Johnson, a sophomore from Ben Lomond, stole a base and smashed a double
Sophomore Brianna Lamb, of Miami, Fla., threw all five innings for Cabrillo, striking out one batter and walking four in addition to knocking in one run on a sacrifice fly.
Miranda Janisch, a sophomore from Gilroy, pitched solid in the second game of the double-header, striking out five batters, allowing three runs and walking two over five frames of work.
Nichole Garcia, a freshman from Salinas, had two hits in four plate appearances and drove in three RBI in the second game. She had five RBI between the two games.

• Cabrillo starts strong – The Seahawks got off to a hot start to the season, winning all four of their games, including a dramatic walk-off victory against visiting Marin College on Tuesday afternoon in Aptos.
The Seahawks outscored the West Hills-Coalinga Falcons over three games by 27 runs, using 12 pitchers in the process.
Through four games, Cabrillo lived up to the preseason hype. The team is currently hitting for a .310 AVG with an absurdly high .848 OPS. Ryan Junker, a sophomore from San Jose, is off to a hot start with six RBI and six hits in 14 at-bats and has already drawn three walks. Junker’s OPS is currently 1.038.
