Joan Otsuji passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Joan was born in Watsonville, Ca and graduated from Watsonville High School in 1959 and earned a BA degree and elementary teaching credential from San Jose State University. She was an elementary teacher for about 30 years in the San Jose area.
Joan is survived by her loving partner of over 20 years, Ron Iyama; daughter, Jill Otsuji Kahihikolo (Kelly); her son Travis Otsuji; her mother Helen Mito; her brother Dan (Karen) Nitta; step-brother Ron (Millicent) Mito; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Fred Nitta and son Kyle Otsuji.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to be held on July 22, 2017 at 12 noon at the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, 640 N. 5th St., San Jose, CA 95112.
