NEW YORK CITY — Kelly Lynn Hurley died unexpectedly in New York City on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. She was 31.
Ms. Hurley was born on Sept. 26, 1985 to Susie M. Southwood and Robert E. Hurley, Jr in Watsonville. She was a fitness enthusiast, avid reader, a strong activist for social change and enjoyed engaging discussions. She also loved traveling, philanthropy and wine tasting. She was employed by Soul Cycle of New York and was a founder of the Movemeant Foundation, which helps women promote positive body image. She was also the best aunt in the world.
She graduated from Monte Vista Christian High School in 2003 and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2007.
Ms. Hurley is survived by her mother and stepfather, Susie and Dan Southwood; her father and stepmother, Bob and Rose Hurley; her brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Shannon Hurley; three nieces, four nephews; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and many family and friends.
Services will be held on Monday, April 24 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel in Watsonville. Visitation at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Graveside services immediately following at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park
