Musicians, dancers and the public take part in a Mexican holiday tradition called La Rama in 2023 in Watsonville Plaza. The first-ever such event in Watsonville was hosted by students in the dance class, Estrellas de Esperanza, taught by Ruby Vasquez. The purpose of La Rama is to bring the community together in a procession to share traditional songs, lyrics and dance steps. La Rama, in tradition with the culture of Veracruz, Mexico, will take place Friday at 5:30pm at the plaza where the public is invited to participate at no charge.
