Leonardo Polanco Hernandez died peacefully surrounded by his family at Watsonville Community Hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018. He was 62.

Mr. Polanco was born to Ramon Polanco and Maria Hernandez in Colima, Mexico on Nov. 9, 1955. He was a resident of this community for 42 years and most recently employed by Falcon Harvesting Company as a machine operator for five years. He was a hard worker who always provided for his family and an easy-going person who enjoyed his home life with his family. He also liked to listen to music and was a big fan of the Mexican soccer team “Las Chivas.”

Mr. Polanco is survived by his wife, Josefina Garcia; three sons, Victor, Luis and Eddie Polanco; one daughter, Laura Ayala; and 12 grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Monday, Aug. 6 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
