Leonor Magaña de Ortiz died peacefully surrounded by her family at Watsonville Community Hospital on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018. She was 72.
She was born to Adolfo Magaña Castillo and Maria del Refugio Zamora on July 8, 1946 in Michoacán, Mexico. Mrs. Ortiz was an excellent home maker, always kept her house tidy and she also enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a good wife, mother and grandmother. She was a loving and kind grandmother who liked to spend time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Ortiz was a woman of faith, devoted to her religion. She attended Sunday Mass regularly until she got sick and could no longer attend.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Ortiz; three sons, Jose, David, and Alejandro Ortiz; three daughters, Esperanza, Alicia, and Maria G. Ortiz; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Monday, Nov. 26 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary prayed at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
