The Giants edged the Padres 3-2 on Thursday in the Pajaro Valley Little League Majors playoffs in Watsonville.
Steven LaGrange hit two singles and drove in two runs while also pitching six innings of four-hit ball to lead the Giants to Tuesday’s championship game. The Giants and Padres will square off again at 6:15 p.m. for the title.
LaGrange finished with 10 strikeouts.
The Giants took a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning on LaGrange’s two-run single with two outs.
The Padres cut the deficit to one on Aiden Bajan’s RBI double in the bottom of the fifth but that’s as close as they came.
The Giants edged the Braves 11-7 on Tuesday to advance to Thursday’s semifinal.
For the Giants, Jacob Vitela had four singles and four scored runs. Michael Ramirez homered and drove in two runs. Lucky McHenry doubled and had two RBIs.
Christian Magana and Nathaniel Arreola both homered for the Braves in the loss. Aiden Sabatino doubled and singled.
• Athletics 9, Rays 6 – The Athletics beat the Rays 9-6 on Wednesday to win the Pajaro Valley Little League Majors consolation championship in Watsonville.
Nate Madrigal doubled for the A’s, while Jackson Miller and D.J. DeLuna each hit a pair of singles.
Brody Legions singled and doubled for the Rays.

AAA MINORS
• Red Sox 6, Orioles 4 – The Red Sox beat the Orioles 6-4 on Thursday night to advance to Tuesday night’s Pajaro Valley Little League AAA Minors Championship.
The Red Sox will meet the Mets at 5 p.m.
Marcus Gonzales and Jesse Navarro pitched a combined four-hitter for the Sox, who were up 4-0 entering the fourth inning.
Samuel Garcia’s RBI double and Issac Lira’s RBI groundout sliced the lead in half but the Sox pushed it back to four with a pair of unearned runs in the home half of the inning.
But the O’s continued to fight, scoring a run in the fifth and sixth inning before the Sox escaped with the win.
The Orioles blew out the Cardinals, 12-2, on Tuesday to advance to Thursday’s semifinal.
Isaac Garcia scored three runs for the O’s and Rodrigo Barranco doubled and had two RBIs. Damian Suchil also doubled for the O’s in the win.
Ben Miller singled and scored a pair of runs for the Cards.
• Yankees 16, Pirates 5 – The Yankees routed the Pirates 16-5 on Monday to win the Pajaro Valley Little League AAA Minors consolation title.
Gabriel Larsen, Matthew Silva and Iker Ponce all hit a pair of singles for the Yankees.
Gabriel Masters singled and doubled for the Pirates.
