Six Cabrillo College football players earned a spot on the American Golden Coast Conference First Team, it was recently announced.
Freshman defensive tackle Eliel Ehimare, freshman punter Nick Martig, freshman defensive back Shaq Floyd, freshman running back Terrence Smith, sophomore linebacker Travis Schuhe and sophomore offensive lineman Noah Wheeler all made the cut for the Seahawks, which finished just 2-8 overall and had only one win in conference under first-year head coach Darren Arbet.
Ehimare had four sacks and 11 tackles behind the line of scrimmage.
Martig averaged 36.7 yards per punt and landed 22 punts inside the 20, while also spending the majority of the season behind center at quarterback. He passed for 2,100 yards with 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
Floyd paced the team in interceptions (7) and was also third on the team in tackles (54).
Smith, a bruiser who could also take it the distance, ran for 1,139 yards and nine touchdowns this season. He also made 11 grabs for 92 yards.
Schuhe was the heart of the Cabrillo defense, leading the Seahawks in tackles (133), sacks (6 1/2) and tackles for loss (17). He also broke up six passes and forced a fumble.

MEN’S JC BASKETBALL
• Ohlone 90, Cabrillo 69 – Linton Acliese poured in 31 points and grabbed 17 rebounds and Kobe Ordonio added 16 points in Cabrillo College’s non-conference loss to Ohlone College on Saturday.
Tynan Velasquez chipped in 12 points, eight assists and six rebounds for Cabrillo (4-3), which hosts Butte College on Friday at 7 p.m.
