Monte Vista Christian beat San Lorenzo Valley High 50-36 to take third place in the Don & Martha Price Christmas Classic on Friday morning in Watsonville.
M.V.C. (8-3) senior center Lucas Schmidt was named to the all-tournament team along with Sacred Heart Cathedral’s Emmett Neal Jr. and Bryce Monroe and Vallivue High’s Steele Hadlock and Amoro Lado.
The Mustangs return to action on Wednesday night at home against San Benito High in both teams’ Monterey Bay League Gabilan division opener at 7 p.m.
• Aptos 65, Stevenson 36 – Max Pepperdine had 16 points, four steals and three blocks in Aptos High’s win over Stevenson in the first round of the Aptos-Santa Cruz Warriors NorCal Invitational on Wednesday.
Forrest Hays added 15 points and Blake Welle chipped in nine points and 10 rebounds.
• Watsonville 66, Luis Valdez 13 – Gio Gonzalez powered Watsonville High to a win over Luis Valdez in the Don & Martha Price Christmas Classic on Thursday morning with 13 points and 16 rebounds.
Jade Canero added 17 points for Watsonville.
• Pajaro Valley 63, North Salinas 43 – Christian Quintero had 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and six steals in Pajaro Valley High’s Bob Steinbach Classic win over North Salinas High on Thursday night.
Juan Lopez scored 10 points for Pajaro Valley.
• Pajaro Valley 62, King City 60 (OT) – Christian Quintero filled up the stat sheet with 29 points, 12 rebounds and three steals to lead the Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies over King City High in the first round of the North Salinas Bob Steinbach Classic on Wednesday.
Tony Reyes finished with six points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

• North Marion 62, Watsonville 31 – Watsonville lost to North Marion in the second round of the Surf ’N Slam tournament on Thursday afternoon in San Diego.
Evelyn Rios had nine points, Savanah Quintana added seven and Jackie Barocio chimed in with six for Watsonville (8-3), which plays for third place in the tournament today at noon against Mt. Si.
• M.V.C. 45, TKA 35 – Monte Vista Christian took third place in the Don & Martha Price Christmas Classic with a win over The King’s Academy on Friday morning in Watsonville.
Madison Hill had 13 points and Angelina Cortes scored 11 for M.V.C. (7-4), which begins its Monterey Bay League Gabilan division season on Tuesday at Gilroy High at 7 p.m.
Mackenzie Tellez was named to the all-tournament team along with North Monterey County High’s Rebecca Castro, Santa Cruz High’s Nayla Samaha and Shafter High’s Monica Birrueta and Stephanie Uribe.
Shafter beat Santa Cruz, 49-34, for the tournament title.
• St. Francis 53, S.L.V. 42 – Alyssa Vargas scored 12 points, Janiya Sevilla added 16 and St. Francis cruised to a win over San Lorenzo Valley High on the final day of the Don & Martha Price Christmas Classic in Watsonville on Friday.
St. Francis (5-4) travels to Felton to play S.L.V. in each teams’ Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League opener on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
• Aptos 56, Palo Alto 43- Hannah Hocom scored 21 points and grabbed four boards in Aptos High’s win over Palo Alto High in the first round of the St. Francis Joe Schram Holiday Classic on Thursday night.
Gabby Giuffre added 15 points and three steals, while Natalia Ackerman finished with 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals.
• N.M.C. 47, St. Francis 39 – Rebecca Castro poured in 23 points for North Monterey County High in its win over St. Francis High in the second day of the Don & Martha Price Christmas Classic on Thursday.
For St. Francis, Janessa Yniguez had 14 points and Janiya Sevilla added 10.
• Santa Cruz 38, M.V.C. 32 – Mackenzie Tellez had 11 points in Monte Vista Christian’s loss to Santa Cruz High in the second round of the Don & Martha Price Christmas Classic on Thursday night.
• M.V.C. 52, SLV 39 – Aleah Rafat had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs’ victory against San Lorenzo Valley High on Wednesday in the first round of the Don & Martha Price Christmas Classic.
Lauren De Los Santos added 10 points and Mackenzie Tellez added nine.

• Cabrillo 85, Lassen 56 – Teal Maixner finished with 25 points, six rebounds and three assists, Lauren Lacy added 22 points, eight assists and five rebounds and Cabrillo College cruised to a victory over Lassen College on Thursday.
Grace Giguiere recorded a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds and Pauli Pappas stuffed the stat sheet with six points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
