The Watsonville High girls’ basketball team cruised to a 63-44 win over rival Pajaro Valley High on Tuesday in Monterey Bay League Pacific division action.

For Watsonville (12-7, 4-3), Savanah Quintana finished with 19 points, six rebounds and six assists; Evelyn Rios had 17 points, six rebounds and five steals; and Julisa Vega chimed in with 10 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks.

Watsonville travels to Alvarez High tonight at 7 p.m.

• Seaside 44, MVC 39 – Madison Hill had 11 points and eight rebounds in Monte Vista Christian’s heartbreaking loss to MBL-Gabilan division-leading Seaside High on Tuesday night.

Aleah Rafat added eight points and eight rebounds, while Mackenzie Tellez and Angelina Cortes each added six points.

M.V.C. (10-10, 2-6) travels to North Salinas High tonight at 7 p.m.

• Aptos 63, Harbor 15 – Rylee Mennie (14), Hannah Hocom (10) and Natalia Ackerman (10) all scored in double figures to lead Aptos High over Harbor High on Tuesday night’s SCCAL victory.

Aptos (18-3, 10-0), which thumped Notre Dame-San Jose, 52-28, on Monday night behind Ackerman’s 15 points and 11 boards, will look to clinch at least a share of its first league championship since the 2000-01 season on Friday night when it hosts Soquel High at 5:30 p.m.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

• St. Francis 51, Soquel 39 – St. Francis improved to 9-1 in SCCAL action with Tuesday night’s victory over Soquel High on the road.

Jason Gallo led the way with 19 points, Chase Watkins poured in 11, E.J. Kelly had nine and Andrew Seymour added eight on the night.

St. Francis (17-3) is off until Feb. 6’s home game against Aptos High at 7 p.m.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

• Aptos 9, SLV 0 – Olivia Meier had a hat trick to lead Aptos High past San Lorenzo Valley High in SCCAL action on Tuesday night.

Gisselle Vasquez scored a pair of goals, and Monserrat Hernandez Marquez had a goal and two assists for Aptos (8-3-2, 6-1), which hosts Soquel High tonight at 7 p.m.

Maya Pruett scored and made an assist, and Haley Veldhuis dished two assists, while Kristen Martin and Chantal Aquirre also scored.

• St. Francis 3, Harbor 1 – Ashley Raich, Devlyn Gomez and Savannah Guel scored for St. Francis High in its 3-1 SCCAL win over Harbor High on Tuesday.

BOYS’ SOCCER

• Watsonville 1, Alvarez 0 – Alexis Valenzuela scored the game-winning goal in the second half to power Watsonville High into third place in the MBL-Gabilan division standings on Tuesday night.

Watsonville (9-3-4, 3-1-4) travels to Monterey High on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

JC BASEBALL

• Cabrillo 10, Marin 5 – Josh Rodriguez blanked Marin College through six innings in Cabrillo College’s preseason win at San Francisco State on Tuesday afternoon.

Rodriguez allowed five hits and four walks, while striking out four to earn the win.

Gaige Howard tripled, walked, scored two runs and had two RBIs. Rob Carlin doubled, scored twice and had two RBIs.

Cabrillo (2-2) hosts Laney College today at 2 p.m. in its home opener.
