Monserrat Hernandez Marquez and Bella McDaniel scored two goals apiece in Aptos High’s 4-0 Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League win over St. Francis High on Tuesday afternoon.

Olivia Meier, Gisselle Vasquez and Haley Veldhuis all made assists for Aptos (12-3-2, 10-1), which has won nine straight games.

Aptos hosts Santa Cruz High tonight at 7 p.m. in its final regular season game.

BOYS’ SOCCER

• Watsonville 3, Pajaro Valley 0 – Noel Vega, Alex Gonzalez and Jose Villanueva all scored for Watsonville High in its Monterey Bay League Gabilan division win over cross-city rival Pajaro Valley High on Tuesday night.

Watsonville (11-4-4, 5-2-4) finishes off the regular season today at San Benito High at 3:30 p.m.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

• MVC 48, NMC 23 – Aleah Rafat and Madison Hill both recorded double-doubles in Monte Vista Christian’s Senior Night win on Tuesday.

Rafat had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Hill chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Lauren De Los Santos finished with 11 points.

M.V.C. finishes its season with a 11-13 overall record.

• Watsonville 61, Christopher 59 – Evelyn Rios scored the game-winning layup to power Watsonville High to a MBL-Pacific division win on Tuesday night.

Rios also dished 11 assists, while Savanah Quintana finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Julisa Vega added 20 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks.

Watsonville (15-8, 7-4) closes out its regular season at Alisal High at 7 p.m.

JC BASEBALL

• Cabrillo 8, Delta 3 – Cabrillo College scored six runs in the eighth inning to stun previously undefeated Delta College and halt a five-game losing streak on Tuesday afternoon in Aptos.

Rob Carling went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a scored run. Jonah Shabry was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a scored run. Gaige Howard doubled, and Kai Moody brought home a run, scored a run and stole a base.

Matt Robustelli got the start, but Greg Neiger picked up the win in relief, going four innings and allowing only one hit while striking out four.

Cabrillo (3-7) plays at Delta College today at 2 p.m.

HS BASEBALL

• WHS alumni game – The Watsonville High baseball team is holding an alumni game on Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m.

Watsonville head coach Leroy Dozal said there are still spots available for the alumni team.

There is a $30 participation fee, which also includes a dryfit baseball shirt to keep.

G LEAGUE BASKETBALL

• Salt Lake 120, Santa Cruz 113 – With star guard Quinn Cook away from the team for personal reasons, and the rest of the roster also in flux following a slew of trades, Santa Cruz fell for the fourth time over the last five games.

Terrence Jones had 30 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Damion Lee added 24 points and four assists for the Warriors (19-18), who on Tuesday traded away forward James Southerland and the returning rights to wing Scott Wood to the South Bay Lakers for a first-round pick in the 2018 G League Draft.

“James Southerland was a hard-working, model teammate in his two seasons with the Santa Cruz Warriors organization,” General Manager Kent Lacob said in a press release. “I wish James the best of luck in his return to the Lakers organization.”

In 69 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors (39 starts), Southerland averaged 12 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 27.1 minutes.

The Bayside, New York native began his G League career with the Lakers organization during the 2013-14 season, contributing 14.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 28.6 minutes across 42 games with the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
