The Cabrillo College Seahawks swept the Merced College Blue Devils in their best-of-three CCCAA NorCal Regional playoff series over the weekend. Cabrillo won 7-4 on Friday and 9-5 on Saturday.
The No. 11-seeded Seahawks will play No. 3 Ohlone College this weekend in a best-of-three Super Regional playoff series. Game 1 is set for Friday at 2 p.m., Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. and Game 3, if needed, will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. Ohlone will host all three.
Adam Rossit was 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a scored run for Cabrillo in its win on Friday. Jarius Richards hit a home run and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Clayton Andrews was 3-for-5 with a scored run.
Brett de Geus recorded the win on the mound. He went seven innings and allowed seven hits, two earned runs and four walks. Andrews tossed a perfect inning for the save.
On Saturday, Cabrillo again racked up 12 hits. Nick Ciandro, Kyle Swanson and Rossit hit doubles. Rossit finished 4-for-5 again with two RBIs and a scored run. Jordan Peabody scored two runs.
Tyler Biersdorff picked up the win in relief of starter Alex Trautner. Biersdorff threw only one inning. Andrews once again picked up the save, going three innings and allowing only one hit while striking out six.
