Seven members of the Santa Cruz Warriors 2016-17 squad are set to play in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League, which starts on Friday and ends on July 17.
Guards Jabari Brown and Alex Hamilton and forward Elgin Cook will play on Golden State’s summer league team, which competes in its first game on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:30 p.m. The game will air on ESPN2.
Golden State center Damian Jones, forward Kevon Looney and guard Patrick McCaw, who all spent time in Santa Cruz on assignment last season, will lead the summer league team.
Rookie wing Noah Allen, a former Palma High and University of Hawaii standout, and the 38th overall pick of this year’s NBA Draft, Jordan Bell, who was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and led the Oregon Ducks to the NCAA Final Four, will also headline the team.
Forwards Cleanthony Early, Chris Obekpa, James Southerland and Scott Wood will all play for different teams. Early will suit up for the San Antonio Spurs, Obekpa is set to play for the Phoenix Suns, Southerland will play with the Utah Jazz and Wood is on the Boston Celtics’ team.

YOUTH BASEBALL
• Watsonville PONY eliminated — The Watsonville PONY All-Stars lost back-to-back games and were eliminated from the PONY NorCal Coast Regional tournament at Franich Park in Watsonville.
Watsonville lost 10-6 to Pacific Grove on Saturday and was then eliminated by Carmel in a 10-9 loss later in the day.
Santa Cruz won four straight games to win the title and advance to the NorCal Super Regional in Campbell.
Pacific Grove finished runner-up to Santa Cruz, losing 9-4 in Monday’s championship game, and will also advance to the super regional round.
• Watsonville PONY 13s fall — The Watsonville PONY-13 All-Stars went 0-4 in the NorCal Coast Regional tournament at Jack’s Park in Monterey.
Monterey went 2-2 in pool play but stunned Santa Cruz, which had won all four of its games in pool play, in the championship game to win the title. Monterey won 13-6 but both teams will advance to the NorCal Super Regional round in Campbell.
