The Pajaro Valley High girls’ volleyball team went the distance on Thursday to defeat St. Francis High in five sets, 25-20, 23-25, 25-14, 22-25, 15-7, in Pacific Coast Athletic League Cypress division play.
Senior outside hitter Bella Langarica had 13 kills, 12 digs, six aces and 19 points on serve, while senior outside hitter Julie Che finished with a team-high 28 kills to go along with two assists for the Grizzlies.
Junior setter Lourdes Diaz finished with a team-high 56 digs and 11 points on serve, while Senior middle Natalia Arroyo tallied 14 digs, two assists, eight aces and 12 points on serve.
Senior middle Elise Ramirez had nine kills and junior libero Michelle Magbag had eight assists for Pajaro Valley.
The Grizzlies, who are currently 2-1 in league play, will compete in the Alisal Trojan Classic, which begins Saturday.

Aptos 3, Scotts Valley 1: The Mariners defeated the Falcons on Thursday in four sets, 25-21, 21-25, 25-9, 25-21, in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.
Svea Anderson had a team-high 10 kills and 14 digs for Scotts Valley. Joelle Andrews added 10 digs and two aces, while Hannah Fleming had 13 digs and five kills for the Falcons.
The Mariners (7-5, 3-1) play against Santa Cruz on Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Mount Madonna 3, Santa Cruz 2: Paola Jacbos recorded a team-high 18 kills to help the Hawks defeat the Cardinals on Thursday in five sets, 25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 21-25, 15-11, in SCCAL play.
Jacbos also had 24 digs, while Liana Kitchell added 12 kills and a team-high 28 digs. Savanah Campbell recorded a team-high 41 assists and Kahlan Tervalon added seven kills for the Hawks (3-2, 2-1), who play against San Lorenzo Valley on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Christopher 3, Monte Vista Christian 0: The Mustangs fell to the Cougars in three sets, 25-9, 25-22, 26-24, in PCAL-Gabilan division play.
Up next, M.V.C. will compete in the Harbor Surf City Invitational starting on Saturday.

Watsonville 3, Stevenson 1: The Wildcatz defeated the Pirates on Thursday in four sets, 18-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-22, in PCAL-Santa Lucia action.
Ingrid Blau finished with 27 digs and four aces, while Audrey Goldsmith had 24 assists and 13 digs for Stevenson.
Watsonville will host North Monterey County in league action on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Scotts Valley 3, Watsonville 0: The Wildcatz fell to the Falcons on Wednesday in three sets, 25-13, 25-18, 25-16, in non-league action.
Hanna Fleming had a team-high 18 kills and 12 digs, while Svea Anderson had 12 kills and 10 digs for Scotts Valley. Kate Shilling had 24 assists for the Falcons.
