Jasmine Jimenez had 27 assists, Naomi Benitez finished with three aces and 10 kills and the Watsonville High Wildcatz swept the Scotts Valley High Falcons 25-16, 26-24, 29-27 on Tuesday in non-league action.
Alexis Pena made 12 digs for Watsonville (2-1), which travels to Santa Cruz High tonight and visits Soledad High on Friday night. Both games are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
• Santa Catalina 3, MVC 0 – The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs lost to Santa Catalina School in a battle of defending Central Coast Section champions on Tuesday night in Watsonville. The scores were 25-15, 25-12, 25-22.
M.V.C. plays at section power Presentation today at 6:30 p.m.
• St. Francis 3, Greenfield 0 – The St. Francis High Sharks swept the Greenfield High Bruins, 25-14, 25-13, 25-10, on Tuesday in non-league play.
St. Francis played against Oakwood, of Morgan Hill, on Wednesday — the results of that game were not available before time of press — and are off until Tuesday’s Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League opener against Harbor High at 6:30 p.m.
