FREEDOM — Luis Garcia died surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home in Freedom. He was 74.

Mr. Garcia was born to Antonio and Herminia Garcia in Michoacán, Mexico and moved to this area 18 years ago. He was a hardworking man who loved his family. He enjoyed riding his horse, listening to mariachi music and working on his farm.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Carmen Garcia; sons, Alfredo, Juan, Salvador, Luis and Ernesto Garcia; daughters, Josefina Polanco, Esperanza Rosales, Consuelo Diaz and Evelia Raya; 31 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Wednesday, July 17 from 3-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Valley Catholic Church on Thursday, July 20 at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
