Watsonville Police on Friday arrested a man after he holed up inside a vacant home on Clifford Avenue. Police initially got calls about shattered glass and someone prowling inside a home on the 100 block of Clifford around 1pm. They surrounded the single-story home and detached garage and made loud announcements for anyone to come out. After getting no response, they send a drone through a doorway in the garage where they heard movement.

That’s when they narrowed their search to a wood cabinet where a man was hiding. With the aid of a pry bar, police tore off a cabinet door where the man emerged fighting. Four officers managed to take him into custody. The suspect’s name was not released. The incident is still under investigation.
