Man shot in Watsonville housing complex

WATSONVILLE—A man was shot in a housing complex off of Ohlone Parkway in Watsonville early Sunday afternoon.

Watsonville Police Department Sgt. Mish Radich said police were dispatched to a report of a shooting at the Stone Creek Apartments, 300 Bree Lane, around 1pm.

Officers found the victim in the complex’s parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

All law agencies in the county enacted Project Rope, a joint law agency effort to station police at key intersections and roadways in hopes of snaring the fleeing suspect.

Radich said no further information is being released in the ongoing investigation.
