WATSONVILLE — A man was shot outside the Motel 6 on Silver Leaf Drive and South Green Valley Road early Monday.

Emergency officials said the man was shot twice in the leg as he sat in a car in the motel’s parking lot around 1 a.m.

Watsonville Police Sgt. Mish Radich said the man was in the stages of getting a room at the motel when he was shot.

Watsonville Fire and American Medical Response paramedics treated the victim, who some say appeared to be around 30, at the scene. He was then packaged up and driven to the trauma center Natividad Medical Center in Salinas.

Thus far no suspects have been located. The victim was not named and no motive has been released by WPD.

The incident is still under investigation.
